short paul reid update...
new motions were filed after judge gasaway ruled that reid did not qualify for a mental competency hearing...this is from the tennessean on saturday...
"Two motions to stay convicted killer Paul Dennis Reid's June 28 execution have been filed by Reid's attorneys, at the request of his sister Linda Martiniano. In one motion, Reid's defenders contend he suffers from a neurological disorder that has left him with a "chronic, schizophrenia-like psychosis. "The second motion claims "Reid has persistent delusions about government controlling his life and the legal process."

Are both prisoners still scheduled for execution as the Tennessean states? I have not heard a lot about this. Is there any hope this won't happen? I know they can stop it even 45 minutes before, as they did with Philip Workman.
Tennessean:::::
Death Row inmate Paul Reid is scheduled to be executed in less than a week. Friday, his sister asked the State Court of Appeals for a stay. It didn't take long for an answer.
The court denied that request.
Reid was convicted of killing several fast food workers.
Also, Sedley Alley is scheduled to be put to death the same day as Reid.
Friday, an appeals court denied a request that would have delayed his execution.
Bottom line: Both executions are still scheduled for Wednesday morning.
